Kris

Here I am, getting into one kind of trouble or another. I was such a bad baby that my mom had to put a leash on me in public.

This is the house where I grew up in Tacoma, WA.

The Eisenhower Years

I was born on December 31, 1958 in Tacoma, Washington. I was named Kristine after a character in a magazine article my mother was reading when she went into labor. I got my middle name, Louise, because that is my Aunt Olga's middle name and I was born on her birthday. My last name was Brozovich because in my day kids automatically got their Dad's last name. (At the time I had one brother and one sister. A couple of years later I got a little sister. She was my worst enemy until she became my best friend. ) I was a cute baby, but a bad baby. I was always in trouble. I loved to run away, especially in grocery stores. My mom had to put a little harness and leash on me whenever she took me out in public. At home, she tied me to the tree so I wouldn't run away. Lots of mothers tied kids to trees back then. It was cheaper than fencing the yard.

Mary Lyon Elementary School

I was so scared my first day of school that I sucked on the neck of my dress until it was soaked. After that I adjusted. I got detention in First Grade for bragging that my pencil was sharper than Carrie Clark's during "NO TALKING" time.
